There are few more Florida ways to get lost than mistaking a swimming pool for the Atlantic Ocean.
A family in Islamorada recently discovered 64 baby sea turtles swimming in their backyard pool. The hatchlings had apparently followed bright artificial lights away from the shore and ended up in chlorinated water instead.
The homeowners called The Turtle Hospital, where the tiny navigators were cleaned, fed, and allowed to recover. Several days later, all 64 were released into the Gulf Stream.
The ocean, fortunately, was exactly where they had left it.
