The Modern Raconteur is a personal publishing house for the well-observed life.
Created by David Alvarez, it gathers photography, illustrated stories, and dispatches shaped by curiosity, taste, and a certain affection for elegant overkill. The subjects vary—travel, landscape, absurdity, history, food, fiction, and the occasional improbable object—but the governing instinct is the same: to notice carefully, to make something of what is noticed, and to present it with style.
Some archives preserve beauty. Some preserve humor. Some preserve evidence. All of them are, in one way or another, attempts to pay proper attention.
