Sri Lanka’s Pinnawala Zoo has invited people to suggest names for three young fishing cats, with submissions closing today ahead of World Cat Day. The species is a rather splendid contradiction: a wild cat adapted to wetlands, comfortable in water and quite capable of catching fish. Three names are required.
One hopes the committee has been warned about the internet.
